Thanks to the Seattle Mariners for taking us to a place we’ve never been before. If you had suggested to me in the spring that we’d play a game 7 in the ALCS, I would have happily taken it. We’ll get em next year.

In the darkest of times, we still have baseball for self-care. Thanks to Feliks Banel for having me on his "Cascade of History" radio program to relive the agony of Friday's @mariners.com 15-inning walk-off win in Game 5 of the ALDS, on @space101fm.bsky.social. on.soundcloud.com/wvwTIyBZVHhq...

Killing people we disagree with is wrong in every way, whether it’s Melissa Hortman or Charlie Kirk. This is especially true in a country awash with guns and run by fascists looking to amplify their already militarized policies.

No thoughts and prayers. Down with fascism and up with gun control.

It’s a clear line from the wartime incarceration of Japanese Americans to the abduction of innocent people off the streets today. Thanks to @benhamamoto.bsky.social for this coverage in the Nichi Bei News of my June 22 talk.

The most detailed story yet from one of my recent talks on the links between wartime incarceration and ICE abductions. Thanks to Kai Curry and the Northwest Asian Weekly, and to the King County Library System for having "We Hereby Refuse" as their "One Bellevue, One Book."

SUCH a great graphic novel. Get a copy while you still can!

@frankabe.bsky.social, will you have copies available (I know 2,000 is not a ton) at your event at Bellevue Library next Saturday?
The wait is over. Our book is proving hard to keep in print. Thanks to all the readers picking up on this story. Now in its fifth printing of just 2,000 more copies, get yours now or order for fall and winter classes while you can. www.chinmusicpress.com/product-page...

Here's the video of our conversation at the "Changing Perspectives" symposium connecting the daily terrors and cruelties on the street with the same violations of due process and habeas corpus against our families 80 years ago. Keep pushing back and speaking out.

Look for this book when it's published July 8. Elaine and Karl Yoneda were central figures in the Manzanar Revolt, but as @tracyslater.bsky.social shows us, there is much more to their story and to Elaine Black Yoneda in particular.
There are mensches, and then there are uber-mensches. In the quest to do honor to this history, the support, perspective, and historical knowledge of @frankabe.bsky.social has been incalculable. To have the honor of this quote on the book’s first page—altogether something else. #booksky #skystorians

Farewell to Brian Wilson at age 82. He outlived both his brothers and I'm grateful to have his music. He had already composed this bittersweet farewell for the band's 50th anniversary in 2012 with the "Summer's Gone" suite. Give it a listen to the end in his memory. youtu.be/T7LcrQ1ONlU?...
