When you have been through such an ordeal, I hesitate to mention this, but are there no grands for suing in a case like this? People such as yourselves--educated with standing in the community--have a better chance of prevailing against such injustice.

The point of yesterday was fear. We were meant to be in fear. Juan was meant to fear being in protest. Americans were meant to fear exercising their constitutional rights.

…at around 430pm he was moved into a van and it wasn’t until they were out of the facility that he was told he would be released at a local gas station.

The stress and trauma of the day were unimaginable for our family and friends.

And knowing this could happen to an elected official…

…him being tackled to the ground and arrested by ICE.

He was never told why he was detained. He was never charged. He was never allowed to see a lawyer. He was never told if he was being detained by ICE or by the FBI, both of whom were present.

He wasn’t even told he was being released...
