New ep! This week we're joined by fingerprint scientist and bad-movie aficionado, Eric Ray, of the Double Loop Podcast

We dig into the 1972 classic(?) BLOOD FREAK from director Brad Grinter A film that might just be the only anti-drug, pro-Jesus, blood-soaked mutant turkey monster flick out there.

I fucking love BLOOD FREAK! Watched it late at night while drinking some time back and what an experience!

Think my favorite is BLOOD RAGE (1987, John Grissmer) so fun and a truly amazing slasher!

Going into Thanksgiving, we'll be taking a look at the gonzo 1972 flick, BLOOD FREAK, for our next episode!

What are some other good Thanksgiving-themed horrors?

This one of many super fascinating bts looks at 'Bruce' the shark from JAWS! It's amazing to see the work that went into bringing it to life & also hearing about how disastrous it was actually working with it.

Check out our episode all about JAWS here: www.frankensteinspodcast.com/123-bruce-th...

Forgot to share this a while back:

This was such an exciting episode to record; Marshall is always a blast to talk to and Howard is an absolute VFX legend. The stories they bring to any conversation are nothing short of insightful.

Loved getting the chance to talk THE HOWLING with them!
Here's a close up of the original artwork our friend, @jimtandberg.bsky.social created for our recent ep. on @thejoedante.bsky.social 's THE HOWLING!

Also check out the episode w/special guests & friends of the pod, Howard Berger & Marshall Julius!

Happy 50th, Bruce the Shark!

This week, we're joined by the incredibly cool & suave, Preston Jeter, to discuss the Spielberg classic, JAWS, and how what started as a production nightmare went on to make movie history.

Thanks as always to @jimtandberg.bsky.social for the episode art!

It's fun to see Spielberg and Columbus involved & hopefully this is great for practical creature effects creatives, but can't help but feel a bit 'on-the-fence' as to whether or not this is a good idea. Does everything need a legacy sequel? Does everything need to be franchise-ed?

Full artwork for this week’s Frankenstein’s Podcast episode. Inks to full digital cover. One of-if not-the best work I’ve done for the podcast. Thanks to Joe and Kalid for keeping this fever dream going. And a special thanks to Howard and Marshall for joining them on this amazing episode.

It's not often someone can say they had artwork--seriously cool artwork--created for a podcast episode they were featured on. But I can say that now.

This hand-drawn masterpiece by @jimtandberg.bsky.social was for a podcast episode I did with Joe and Kalid for @frankenpodcast.bsky.social. 1/2

Wrist is killing me. But one does not simply phone it in when they’re drawing the Borg.

1981 gave us two absolutely banger werewolf designs AND transformation scenes. John Landis' AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON feature some fantastic effects work from Rick Baker while Joe Dante's THE HOWLING had some superb stuff from Rob Bottin.

Absolutely loving the gnarly cover art for these issues of Star Trek: Red Shirts. Props to Christopher Cantwell & Megan Levans for putting together a really cool and unique Star Trek comic with this series so far. Lots of fresh ideas that never shy away from brutality & intensity!

This is such a fun bts shot from Star Trek: First Contact. The Borg Queen has been somewhat of a contentious canon addition amongst Trekkies, but there’s no doubt that Alice Krige was fantastic in the role & Frakes directed the hell out of this movie.
