Love @daytonward.bsky.social’s Trek books and this cover absolutely slaps. Looks like it might be taking place post-season 3 too. Definitely stoked for this one!

I beam aboard @dslovepod.bsky.social—a podcast that explores love, in all its forms, throughout the final frontier—to discuss the relationship between D'Vanna Tendi and Samanthan Rutherford on Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Not without their flaws, but GRIMCUTTY & COME PLAY are couple of severely underseen/underrated horror flicks. Definitely had a lot of fun with both & they make for a good double feature!

100% agreed. Really digging the vibes of this first issue & love how this is following up on some dangling threads in some cool and unique ways. Definitely looking forward to issue #2.

Was so busy this past week I only just got round to reading the first issue of Last Starship and yooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I like this way way WAY more than I thought I would
A screenshot of the cover of the first issue of Star Trek: The Last Starship. James T. Kirk, against a yellow-hued backdrop of exploding ships, is shot in profile as a battered constitution-class starship floats to his left.

Wack. Want to watch this show even more now.

A big reason I was so charmed by this was the use of some real fun practical creature effects through what the show calls the 'Passengers.' Won't get into spoilers here, but this is a great article on the topic (via @fangoria.bsky.social):

Just finished the SYFY show, #Revival (based on the comic of the same name) w/Melanie Scrofano. Turned out to be a really fun and inventive sci-fi/horror-adjacent show with some cool and unique ideas! Admittedly, it bit off a bit more than it could chew by the end, but gotta respect the ambition.

Recently had an absolutely delightful conversation with @miquai.bsky.social about Star Trek: Lower Decks for an upcoming @dslovepod.bsky.social ep. It was a fun reminder of how much I love connecting other fans in the Trek community, especially when the world feels grim. Look for the ep. soon!

Of course experts say their wrong, because they are wrong.

This is like when two Batman villains team up and it's bad for everyone but also really stupid.

Up next on the pod!

We’re joined by the fantastic Wi-Moto Nyoka (of @duskyprojects.bsky.social) to chat about her contributions to the horror genre as a creator as well as the 2020 French-Moroccan supernatural slasher, KANDISHA.

Super fun conversation, look for it soon!

Happy #StarTrekDay! 🖖🏻 A while back we did an episode dedicated to the Salt Vampire creature played by stuntwoman, Sandra Gimpel. The Trek episode featuring this creature, "The Man Trap,"was the very first Star Trek episode shown on TV on Sept. 8, 1966.

Wow - Timely that I seemed to revisit this show now. RIP Graham Greene. A trailblazing actor with some iconic roles on his resume. He's fantastic in DEFIANCE.
