Detective Instinct: Farewell, My Beloved is one many mystery title we played this year and enjoyed!🔍 Inspired by great gumshoe games like Hotel Dusk, Ace Attorney and Famicom Detective Club -- the OST also takes notes from several great albums.

I read 36 books in 2025, but I also got every ending in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy so let's say I read 65 books in 2025

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

just learned that VNDB deleted Heaven Burns Red because it has too much gameplay or some shit, but what they actually did was remove useful pages of staff credits.

remember, the mods are opposed to the idea of a database. they want to curate what they think is a visual novel, not be a resource.

Give folks their flowers

No, I mean right now. Go tell someone you loved their work right now. They're on social media just say it, it has never been easier

"They know how much people love--" no they don't go say it right now to a composer or artist or game dev or writer or anyone AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

I played the ENTIRE first game before recording for the second, so I was coming in fresh with all the knowledge of what transpired. Being in the know really helped connect to the material!

It’s a bit late for a Christmas request but honestly I would be satisfied every single year if my “gift” was folks sharing a clip they enjoyed of part of my performance in something.

I so rarely get to hear the finished product of the stuff I record for, so getting to see it “in the wild” is great.

Trans Char Aznable wouldn't "come out" she would show up somewhere someday as a mysterious blonde beauty named Cinco Benis having already fully transitioned. She'd say something about how the great man Char Aznable has died, how tragic, but humanity must move on. Honestly iconic of her

The part of Bob's advice that's bad is "post it on the internet." The part of Alice's motivation that is bad is "I want praise and clout and affirmation without doing the work to acquire a skill."

For another, you can just do art and not post it. I do that all the fucking time. I make doodles for my tabletop game, I draw my little avatar guy. Art can be just for you and like four of your weirdest friends.

The purpose of human expression is not Posting.

This is such a bad take I had to block the person no matter how many smart people I like follow them lmao

This is presumes that all creative output must be availed to the public. This is stupid. You do not owe everyone a behind-the-scenes look at your development if you don’t want to.

And it's that underlying assumption, that the purpose of doing art is to post it online for clout and engagement, that makes this such a weird fucking take.

For one thing, you'll get WAY more shit for posting AI garbage and claiming it as you own work. Literally nobody will respect that.

There's such a weird series of nested conflations going on here.

Like, it seems that Alice wants to use AI to do art... so that she can post it on the internet for clout and praise, and Bob's advice is bad because beginners don't get praise and clout, but get nasty comments for being beginners?

Techbros seem to love Tolkien, so here's an analogy to help you understand what genAI is.

GenAI is The One Ring. You think your use is justified, b/c you don't have evil in your heart.

But it came from evil, it is intended for evil purpose, & anything you do with it will be twisted to that end.

Much to many of my peers' chagrin, there is at least some truth to the claim that most major publishers/developers are now using AI, and it's the smart ones that just aren't talking about it. If it's "just" for collaging concept art, would Valve mandate the AI content notice? Lots to worry about.
