fenway health capitulating to a non-binding statement by HRSA to end provision of trans care to people under 19 is just unbelievably spineless. they suck but for most people in the Eastern half of the state they are the first option. 弱虫

i think the most positive thing you can say about Bluesky is that it doesn't have the twitter juice. posting on here sucks shit, feels bad, and leaves you mostly surrounded by pedants and bots. my heart is reassured by the knowledge that these people cannot yoke me to the dark machine of posting

lib "reclaiming my time" gotcha stuff is obviously the circuses in the complete absence of accompanying bread but if you're gonna run a circus at least do it wholeheartedly. i wanna see the bear drive around in the little car. i want clowning and tomfooling goddamnit

if you're gonna give these fuckers airtime the least you can do is conduct the interview in a spirit of utter hostility. this is cute but vance got to puff nonanswers and the phrase "violate a crime" out of his paunchy lil cheeks for like 5 uninterrupted minutes beforehand. just cut his feed

STEPHANOPOULOS: I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50k as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. You did not answer the question. Thank you for your time.

VANCE: No, George, I sai--

STEPHANOPOULOS: We'll be right back

Died (alas!) on this day in 1492, in Sansepolcro, the great Piero della Francesca. I could gaze forever at the fearsome geometry of his Annunciation.

2/2 This Annunciation is staged before a truly fabulous demonstration of deep perspective. Top segment of Polyptych of Saint Anthony, by Piero della Francesca. It's his day.

Dental Phantom, c.1898. Or, what it feels like to live in 2025.

The dental phantom was first created by the Glaswegian dentist Eduard Oswald Fergus a few years earlier as a tool for students to practice their craft before working on human subjects.

imo 90% of all gains directly from machine learning though are in non-consumer QoL-facing fields because it is inherently a limited tool. but unfortunately for us academia and tech incentivize cramming the shiny new jangling keys into every experiment/product for the sake of SEO and buzz essentially

we are genuinely scary good at treating some medical conditions to the point where if you catch a stroke early enough you can return to baseline functionality in like a couple days. my dad had cancer and on an experimental immunotherapy he went from dx to cured w/o radiotherapy in 3 months
