Vandals decapitated and smashed the statue of Mary in an Evanston church’s outdoor Nativity scene Friday, and the church responded by replacing it with a sign saying Mary was beaten & dragged away in front of her son and is being held in immigration detention.

I crochet and know next to nothing about knitting. But my crochet knowledge taught me enough to know Goodwill had a handmade knit sweater hanging on the racks. This beauty is designed by Kate Davies and the pattern can be purchased on Ravelry. I paid $10 for this gorgeous work. #knitting

Multiple staff had their own 67 shirts. In the morning, it was a non-stop chorus of “6-7”, but by the afternoon, kids were over us. I barely heard anyone spewing this brain rot.
Wish me luck. Give a guess on how many times I’ll hear 6-7 today.

This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

This week, I’ve worn sweaters and cardigans I crocheted each day. I usually get a compliment from someone resulting in another person saying, “She made that.” This is often said before I get a thank you out.

Snow says we’re not going anywhere tomorrow. Not to mention the 90+ min of snow clean up. We’re setting up Epochs Course of Cultures tonight. Game is 2-3hrs so best to set it up now. #boardgames

Snow looks like it’s slowing down. Only an inch in last 2.5 hours. Still might hit 10 inches of snow before this storm is over.

Just finished playing Origin Story. This is a great twist on trick taking. Players add super powers ea turn that can create an engine. In 2p games, players get sidekicks, who are considered players and add an element of strategy. Sidekicks also make it a great 2p game. #boardgames

Just finished Sweet Lands. Definitely a heavy Euro style game with multiple choices and avenues for gaining points. I won w/a score of 143 to 112. Overall, I enjoyed my game, and would play again. There are 2 things that struck me as confusing/missed opportunity. #boardgames

It’s time! No more headache, groceries stocked ahead of the big snowstorm, and lunch eaten. Now it’s time for board games. Sweet Lands has been set up on our table since last night and I’m excited to play. #boardgames

Just watched the first episode of Death by Lightning on Netflix abt how James Garfield accidentally became a presidential nominee. The whole show is so well done. The props dept appeared to have a great time. The acting is fantastic.

I’ve been suffering from a headache since last night right before bed. I still want to play our stack of new games. Hubby has slowly been setting up Sweet Lands. I doubt we’ll get to it this evening. I’m enjoying the artwork. #boardgames

I don’t play any kind of D&D or Pathfinder so not sure of norms. I was at a coffee shop shop this weekend and I’m pretty sure I witnessed one person A interviewing person B for a D&D campaign. Like all out, hour long interview. Is this a common practice? #dungenonsanddragons
