Yesterday, my heaviest hitting students avoided a fight. I wouldn’t have blamed him if he had fought, but was very happy he didn’t. He was in such a good mood when he went home. Told me to have a good weekend (3 day wknd for students) and that I “better find something good at a thrift store”.

Sitting in coffee shop when I see woman I used to work with in my early 20’s. (In mid-40’s now.) She’s in her 70’s now, but we always got a long back then. I’ve wondered abt her, but don’t think she recognizes me now. I remember she hates surprises so hesitant to interrupt her convo w/her friends.

We taught students the program Book Creator. A Black student wanted Black anime characters. We told AI pic generator “black skin”, “brown skin”, “black features”, and continued to get white characters. Finally, I typed in “African features” and the character came back w/a semblance of black skin. 😒

Here is why I think board game publishers should use professional translators and not rely on the community, friends or AI. While those are cheap, chances are they lead to issues that are more costly.

We played a game of Beer and Bread. I liked everything about this game except the exchange drafting every other turn. It took a lot of strategy away and I just started collecting resources randomly in hopes I could make something. #boardgames
