Unauthorized Bread by Cory Doctorow is a short but fun story. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a great job. It dives in to a future where everything is locked behind apps and subscriptions and a woman learns how to jailbreak her toaster to toast anything she wants. 5*
I'm 40 now so I had 6 check ups/scans/annuals in 1 month. My health anxiety was/is zipping, I have to get another boob ultrasound in 6 months to get a cyst rechecked and I have to decide if I want to deal with minor surgery to remove a fibroid. But for now, I'm done. That was hard but I did it.

Are there any reports on the status of the White House bunker during this whole process? It’s under the East Wing and this seems like a major national security risk if it‘s inaccessible.

He’s just gonna keep going and take down the whole White House, isn’t he

I keep telling folks that the right lives in their amygdala and tries to pull the whole country into their amygdala. And if that’s the case the left has to make pulling people back into their frontal cortex a project we take seriously.

Meta *literally just* fired 3600 people earlier this year so they could "focus on AI," and now they're firing *600* of their "AI" people? That does Not sound like a company that knows what the fuck it's doing.

In Mexico, blackouts caused by data centers destroyed people's refrigerators and oxygen equipment in hospitals, and water shortages meant toilets couldn't flush in schools.

AI is another version of colonial extraction.
“By 2035, data centers globally are projected to use about as much electricity as India…according to the International Energy Agency. A single data center can also use more than 500,000 gallons of water a day, nearly as much as an Olympic-size swimming pool.”

For folks asking if they've made it *inside* a Home Depot yet as the business has clearly just continued letting agents do whatever they want in their lots, the answer is yes. This is from yesterday in Evanston.

Trump and Stephen Miller’s authoritarian playbook is painfully predictable:

1️⃣ Target a Democratic city
2️⃣ Lie about crime
3️⃣ Deploy heavily armed agents to aggressively detain innocent people and violate their rights
4️⃣ Create stress and chaos
5️⃣ Use self-created chaos as excuse for militarization

34 people killed in 50 days. Their guilt or innocence unknown, for an alleged crime that doesn't carry a death sentence. That's a lot of death.

My friend was looking to sell plasma to cover some bills and they couldn't even do that because they weren't healthy enough.

It’s not radical to believe that people shouldn’t have to sell plasma to make ends meet.

Trump’s construction of the Epstein Ballroom continues today. Can only imagine he’ll be renting it out for many junior proms.

In the Hebrew Scriptures that Christians adopted as the Old Testament, we're told no fewer than 36 times to love the stranger.
Notice how it’s always, “the Bible must inform our laws!” until it comes to the +2,000 verses in the Bible that discuss the generous use of wealth and possessions in a way that prioritizes the needs of the poor, this sick, the stranger, the vulnerable, and the oppressed.
