Watching When A Stranger Calls (1979) and when she drinks the parents' liquor, I thought "I hope they don't have a nanny cam."

I had to pause the movie to be impressed with how stupid that thought was. It also makes me yearn for when we didn't constantly worry about being filmed.

It also includes your own work that you don't have to do for someone else, but are purely putting out into the world on your own terms. You need to take breaks and make time for yourself. It's often the reason you go from liking it to loathing it.

I'll add: I shit on CalArts a lot as an institution. Most recent alums do.

However, the community I built from it is one of the best things to ever happen to me.

So much of my adult community is thanks to the people there.

Whenever people talk about having a hard time finding friends as an adult, the response is always, "That's normal. Get over it."

I don't think it is normal. We just live in a world that robs us of community and has done it for so long it became normal.

I'm fortunate I've made a lot of friends in adulthood due to the nature of my career.

It taught me it's a lack of being given the chance to form community vs it just being how life is.

I'm noticing an alarming amount of people who think Disney created fairy tales.

I just saw someone say the story of Robin Hood originated with the Disney movie and....

Look, I love a lot of these films, but it's very concerning that people think Disney invented them.

The ICE agents deploying these are people without necessary training, those who couldn’t cut it in police training or didn’t want to join the military.

They are in this to hurt people and play Call of Duty on our streets, deploying chemical weapons on our neighbors as if they’re pressing L1.

I saw some Kpop Demon Hunters and Bob's Burgers fanart that was super cute.

But the thing that sticks with me was someone commented with potential episode dialogue that was spot on.

All I can hear in Linda's voice is, "Bobby, they're trying to save their honeymoon!"

Great story. Can't overstate the desperation in creative industries right now. Nearly every person I know who previously had a viable, or even lucrative, career in media/entertainment is in a financial panic, leaving longtime apartments, desperately taking any work they can find. It is really bad.

I've had pro screenwriters tell me I should use AI to rewrite my scripts to make them "more appealing" to execs, and I'd get left behind if I refused.

It's sad thinking that at least some are likely getting that same advice, unaware it's sabotaging them.

Definitely. I didn't explain myself well, but I think as people are encouraged to use it in job hunting in any capacity, you'll see more people using it for everything.

I've been seeing a lot of people give the "use ai for everything, even writing samples" advice, including people who know better.

People are applying to so many jobs, the idea of using AI probably makes it less overwhelming.

Plus I've been talking to people with job coaches and the job coaches are telling everyone to use AI. I even saw some job recruiters online encourage it.

Don't forget that the impossibly large boobs had to be natural. They couldn't be implants or you lose! Also you'd get mocked if you ate a salad or dieted.

You had to naturally be a size XS with size 36DDD boobs while eating 10 hamburgers for every meal.

It also had a lot of comments that showed me a misconception non-industry people have about entertainment I didn't even know about.

One of those things non-industry people say very confidently even though it makes no sense.

This time it was uncredited = unpaid, therefore it's exploitation.

I saw an Instagram post about Bluey and how they deliberately keep the child voice actors' identities a secret to protect them. I actually really like that and think it's smart.

And the amount of absolutely unhinged comments the post got solidified it was the right move.
