“To pause or eliminate access to gender affirming care is not a neutral act. It is a decision with moral weight. It communicates to trans youth that their identities are negotiable, their needs are expendable, and their lives are collateral damage in a broader ideological battle.”

We’re outraged to hear of the impact of federal attacks on trans youth in Wisconsin.

Join us for a virtual briefing on how friends, families, and allies can respond to this latest attack this Thursday, January 15th.

HEARING ALERT! Anti-equality legislators have YET AGAIN announced another hearing on three more anti-trans bills.

Yeah. But something I’ve realized with this stuff is that we don’t need outrage from people. I’m plenty outraged. Trans people are outraged. We need support and action and care.

Just got a call from Kate’s doctor this morning that they are no longer doing gender affirming care.

I don’t know how I’m gonna tell her when she gets home. Apparently there’s one doctor in Milwaukee we can try but it would be entirely out of pocket.

I’m just sick.

Honestly? That tracks. Great first half, then LeFleur lets up in the second half and is suddenly super cautious and can’t remember how the game clock works. Defense gets exhausted. Special teams absolutely bombs. It’s been our playbook all season.

We are who they thought we were.

I’m not feeling terribly confident going into the game tonight. Injuries have decimated us through the last few weeks and our games with Chicago are always hard fought. But it’s destiny right? 27.

Pupdate!

It seems that waiting has paid off. We believe she has dodged the need for another surgery. A third day of X-rays tomorrow to confirm though.

She did eat this evening though, which is the first time since Monday.

So lucky she is cute though. I swear.

Looking highly likely she will need another surgery. I don’t know who has 6k to drop on a dog twice in four weeks but it’s not me. I still haven’t gotten insurance money back from the first surgery.
Peggy is sick again. No idea what’s going on but it’s looking exactly like it did before her surgery. Vet won’t take her, so I’m waiting for the Urgent Care vet to open.

The number of game stores in my area that I will not go to because I’ve been treated badly by “regulars” is greater than zero. And I am NOT a casual RPG fan. If your store is welcoming, I WILL be back.
Synopsis: You need to kick more people out.

You will actually have a larger base of customers/attendees if you kick more people out. You will make more money. I am dead serious.

Just a reminder as I wake up to a timeline that is nothing but reposts of people being outraged: it’s okay to feel that way. It’s okay to want to find a solution. But spend time considering what your goal is when you repost/share things.
Consuming and sharing every piece of news isn’t actually helping. Knowledge is power, but there is a point of diminishing returns too. Try to be mindful of what and how much you share. Don’t contribute to the overwhelming nature of things!

#CharacterCreationChallenge is now on.

For each day in January, create a new character and post it online for an RPG that you play or wish to play.

New Year’s Eve/ New Year’s Day is always slightly unsettling to me as this worldwide, shared liminal space. There is so much sorrow and anticipation and fear and joy all at once. I often find it emotionally overwhelming — the desire to carefully reflect and idyllically plan simultaneously.

I get to be off work tomorrow because it’s one of the six days that actually count as a holiday in the medical field so that’s pretty neat. I took Friday off too since the kids don’t have school and they are at my house. Somehow I’m already stressed about being out of my routine again though.

No. Just no.

There’s literally nothing that happened on a regulatory front that would require you to send me six emails between 4:45 PM Monday and 9 AM on Tuesday.

NOTHING.

At what point am I allowed to respond to someone saying “ you have exceeded the limit of communication.”

But it was the smaller one because I was worried I might hurt someone with the big one honestly.
