Power is back. Apartment only got down to 64° so I live to see another day.
Boss still says I can be done with work but I’m gonna do stuff anyway because people are now gone for the holiday so I can finally be left alone enough to get actual things done maybe?

Well. It is crazy windy (the windchill is at 5°F) and my power is out.
On the plus side my supervisor said that means I can stop working for the day.
The downside is that it will get pretty cold in here if it doesn’t come back on soon lol

Scheduled the first 3 therapy visits for Eleanor now.
I have every other Friday off for the next month for Eleanor’s appointments. Plus a Monday off for Kate’s next doctor appointment (still haven’t scheduled her therapy).
My therapist wants me to schedule a physical and ECT. But when???

Tomorrow I get to do it again for Eleanor.
And if there’s time, I can make my own doctor appointments maybe. If there’s any energy or PTO left…

Since I’m seeing an increase with all the political changes: ped*phile jokes ARE NOT funny. For some reason they still seem to be socially acceptable and increasingly common. We have largely accepted that r*pe jokes are crude and offensive. This is the same thing, with even more vulnerable victims.

I heard this once as "In a just world, only a few people are guilty, but everyone is *responsible*" and that has really stuck with me.
I’ve said this before but white guilt is useless. I don’t want people to feel guilty for things they had no part in, and guilt easily curdles into resentment. But everyone regardless should feel an obligation to correct injustice, especially if you somehow benefit. bsky.app/profile/mich...
I found this piece sad too, but mostly because it is part of a years-long effort by progressives to understand what "really" animates Trump voters.

The one bit of good news in the last week or so: the doctor that does my ECT is back in network.
This makes the prospect of winter much less daunting, since that’s generally when the low moods for my bipolar disorder really hit. It’s a relief to know that I have a safety net.

The good news: Ascension WI and United Healthcare have come to an agreement, ending their standoff retroactive to October 1st. Care at Ascension facilities is once again “in-network.”
The bad news: we still have a healthcare system that’s too expensive for just about everyone…
