"We sure do; let's start by searching the online catalog to find out where they are."

My favorite Red Bull is the sugar-free Juneberry flavor. There's a White Peach flavor I like. And Watermelon is good too.

Does anyone knows of anyone who is keeping a database of all the national park exhibits taken down because of the administration’s problems with DEI?

I maybe know people who took photos of all the exhibits that were up at Harper’s Ferry.

I turned in degree-finishing papers still-warm from the printer because I finished them at literally the last moment possible.

I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.
wrote 20 pages on Faulkner's The Bear four hours before final papers were due on trucker pills and coffee and cigarettes and got an A, fuck you.
You people couldn't hang with real slackers.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

I'm sure I'm coming across less than bubbly.

I'm glad he's getting assistance; that's the "how" I was referring to. I was a kid with emotional dysregulation and never got the "how" taught to me, so sometimes I get a little bitter. Not your fault, tho.

You're doing a good job!

Cool. Are you helping him find the tools and resources to manage anger?

Saying, "deal with your anger" doesn't do much if you don't know HOW to deal with anger.

Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

"Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol. None of this is positive..."

But, look, I made you some content.
Daddy made you your favorite; open wide.
Here comes the content;
It's a beautiful day to stay inside.

“Content” is a corpo-brain term, makes me cringe when I hear it in the wild.

You don’t make “content”, you make ART! You write STORIES. Its your WORK (and often play too)!

“Content” is the noise you flick through when trying to find a SHOW you like, don’t cheapen your work comparing it to SLOP. 😤

"Content" is a blatantly misleading term to use for fanworks. Fanworks are the antithesis of content; content is produced for individual gain and consuming, whereas fanworks are created out of inspiration and the communal experience.

but I do not think automatic staplers are as confusing as some folks seem to think.

A striking thing about articles I’ve read claiming to “study the effects” of generative AI on student writing skills and consumption of information is that (1) they nearly always find the effects are negative and (2) most “conclusions” are still written assuming that we must use AI, for some reason.

If you deploy it too close to someone's eyes, the particles can basically become little bullets and embed themselves in things like eyeballs.
