It's a little creepy how your side always talks about the kids, as if people on this side do not care about our children or future generations. It's like emotional blackmail rather than a reasonable good faith debate. Saturday night approaches so I shall leave you in peace. Goodbye.

I thought they had retired the de facto referendum pish when they lost Rutherglen and Hamilton?

You want me to make a big change. Sturgeon understood this only after the pain of Brexit. You want to tear up my way of life.
It's a very big ask for you to then start talking about crystal balls. Do better. And then do better again. Give me a case not built on Farage, wind and exceptionalism.

It's very easy to make a favourable comparison for an imagined personal utopia where unicorns roam free and that nice Mr Swinney gives everybody £10k (or was it every home? Over what time scale, what frequency? still waiting for the ipad and bike btw) with an actual pragmatic negotiated status quo.

I wish Labour and the SNP had put more into REMAIN campaigning. A vote was held, we lost. Having cut off our ear with Brexit, I don't see the point of then going for the nose with Scexit.
glendarroch.bsky.social
You want change, make an honest case for it.
glendarroch.bsky.social
You’ve hit the nail on the head. There is security and safety in known knowns, the status quo. You are asking us to take a leap with you into the unknown and you can’t (or don’t want to truthfully) answer basic common sense questions because you know it will sink your case.

The SNP introduced austerity to Scotland in 2007
glendarroch.bsky.social
In hindsight, no. SNP spent more on a motorhome than campaigning for REMAIN, it’s a bit late to get all mawkish and misty-eyed now. What is your timetable for EU entry? How do you think currency, tariff, customs and freedom of movement border with our biggest customer and supplier will help Scots?
glendarroch.bsky.social
By your logic I’ve been forced to live under an SNP govt for 18 years. You want to talk about democracy? Lets be consistent please.
glendarroch.bsky.social
‘We’ve’ not been forced. ‘We’ voted to stay. As you know. You are quick to say Scotland voted REMAIN. By the same rhetoric Scotland voted NO. The truth is more nuanced of course, but that doesn’t make for lazy and cynical broadbrush conference war crys.

The SNP are cynically using the threat of Farage. I want to hear a better case. The same is true of all the major parties tbf. It’s a depressing time. I don’t know how I’m going to vote next year. Nothing on offer appeals.

I voted NO in 2014. Those agitating for YES have yet to make a compelling case imho. Other opinions are available. I want a case where I can vote confidently and positively, aware of perils and pitfalls, not FarageBad. I hate Farage, he is bad, but he’s not a sensible reason to destroy my country.

And this is not my current argument. It has been my consistent argument, remember the oil price that was the foundation of the 2014 white paper dropping to .45$/b? Just be honest about the inevitable hardships.
glendarroch.bsky.social
never said that. Stop straw manning. I would like answers to basic sensible questions about the realities of how it would look. Currency, economy, border at gretna, EU process, nato, it’s a big decision to make on the basis you don’t like a temporary demagogue, which is what they are selling.

The Bear makes us want to go. Won't until the orange idiot is out of office.

They are not Christians. They are cosplay.

Dragged this one out the archives.

Looking back through the lens of todays tv production values it doesn't stand up that kindly, but at the time it was fantastic.

What does 'remove zionism' mean? Do you want to abolish Israel?
glendarroch.bsky.social
Not a peep about Hamas torturing civilian dissenters, of course.

I won't call you a bad word because this is not twitter.
glendarroch.bsky.social
Except that they do not. The last elections were 18 years ago and those who dissent against Hamas are publicly tortured or killed.

You either genuinely care about civilians or you do not.

Still got to chuckle at the idea of a ‘feminist’ hanging on Salmonds every word.
