A reminder that this strange, fun album birthed a remix album called "So Soon," which included two, iconic Boards of Canada remixes.

Sure, the streaming companies have their loudness guidelines, but if you're putting your music on bandcamp or some direct-download thing, you can make it as loud as you want. Here's Autechre's Exai. LUFS range from -9 to -14.4, but most tracks are around -11.

When correcting my Byerdynamic DT-990 headphones, I often choose the Sennheiser HD660s. Maybe I should just get those then eh

I have a grip of nonsensical, glitchy tracks that are more like soundscapes than tracks, all Tonverk stuff. Definitely sound cool. Damn, I just have to put *something* out.

Major, major #elektron Tonverk update! Granular is here, with "Grainer," among many other improvements.

I still can't believe what a crazy machine the Octatrack is.

Imagine just sitting, staring at some instrument you purchased, praying for a firmware update. Just either play it, return it, or sell it off!

That PPG Wave sound (I'm pretty sure)

It's kind of fun to listen to all the different versions of 80s hits. Mixing, mastering, editing, all different. Some good decisions, some bad. The late-80s/early-90s CD rips are often the worst. At least, they're the least full-sounding mixes/masters, but that's just how it was back then.

Why isn't there an extended 12" mix of In The Air Tonight that just loops that final 2:00? The bassline, vocoder, and subtle synth-strings are too good.

I've put out a lot of music. I sometimes forget about certain tracks.
Here's one I really dig: glitched.bandcamp.com/track/reprie...

It's so nice when someone writes a mini-review of one of my releases. I try to do this on my favorite purchases, too. Anyway, Buromaschinen says this about my 2022 release, "if this is the last time": glitched.bandcamp.com/album/if-thi...

Just started SIGNALIS today! Already, I can tell it was put together with passion. The mood is palpable thanks due in part to the music and sounds of @cicadasirens.bsky.social and @1e0y0e0s.bsky.social !

Whoa, this person almost has the complete set. That's a lot of trance
November 17, 2025 at 2:12 AM
Even if a track is "good," I will often cast it aside because it doesn't sound "cool" enough. It's too "obvious" or something.

If Roland didn't exist, do you think another company's drum machine would have filled the gap? Would house/electro/techno even exist?
November 16, 2025 at 4:23 PM
My compositions are intentionally minimal. I usually feel like I can't fit anything more in there that would make the concept any better.

Was listening to this just the other day. Here's "View Comfy," an immediately arresting, nostalgic, FM-pad-driven ambient piece. Love this stuff.
It is, as my mum would say, “windy for the boats”. And raining. So why not stay in and grab yourself 4 albums (81 tracks) of old techno, IDM, ambient and all that for the temporary total price of £2:
