Renters are the backbone of the rental market. Don’t get it twisted.

I am *begging* the Doug Ford government to stop calling every bill the “Protect Ontario by” yadda yadda. This is worse than when we started calling every Toronto initiative “somethingTO.” You’re not “protecting” anyone but your donors and the word has lost all meaning.

Doug Ford sure has it out for poor people.

@jlewenberg.bsky.social what was that prayer circle with both teams at the end? I’m genuinely curious.

Believe the hype. These Raptors are a treat to watch right now. Superior ball movement.

“Yes, we need to change the deeply systemic issues we were warned about for decades and ignored, but because that’s hard and takes time, let’s fuck over the homeless.” — every single op-ed page on encampments

I love when people just come right out and call having no money “delinquent” behaviour. Saves me the trouble of continuing to hear them out.

It's so fucking easy to whine about the SYMPTOMS of these problems - WE CAN'T HAVE *ENCAMPMENTS* NEAR DAYCARES, WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN??? - and then your lazy ass solution is "get rid of the encampments", as if that answers the Q: where are these people supposed to go?

I’m not sure what a “political orphan” is, but context clues suggest it’s a conservative with a gay bestie.

Hi folks! We want to apologize for the regular episode schedule being inconsistent recently. We had to scrap an episode due to audio quality. It’s every podcaster’s worst nightmare come true. But we’re back soon with an annual tradition regular listeners love. Apologies, and stay tuned. ❤️

I think Doug Ford’s attack on renters boils down to this: if you’re constantly moving, fighting eviction, or unhoused, you’re far less likely to participate in provincial politics. Wealthy homeowners and private developers will vote for Doug. Everyone else won’t have the energy to vote him out.

These people are ghouls
Markwayne Mullin: "Reward people for being healthy. Think about this. Healthcare is the only industry that you're not rewarded for taking care of your responsibility. If you think about homeowners insurance, if you're within 500 feet of a fire hydrant, your insurance goes down."

There was literally a Black Mirror episode about why you shouldn’t use AI to preserve a dead loved one. We’re collectively playing high-speed chicken with a brick wall. I hate it here.

Mind you the recommendation (that didn’t make it past committee) was for *corner lots*. They can’t even prompt right.
