I'm still seeing comments saying, "I don't need the NWS! My weather app is better!" Folks don't understand that that cool app is just a parasite that feeds almost entirely off NWS data. The ignorance is stunning.

When a person wins an election, they represent ALL PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THAT PARTICULAR DISTRICT whether they voted blue OR red. To all Republican representatives who think it's "paid troublemakers"- put your big pants on and listen to what YOUR CONSTITUENTS ARE TELLING YOU AS YOU REPRESENT THEM ALL.

Before whatever is about to happen happens: There will be a lot of reporting and commentary about executive orders. Much of that reporting, at least initially, will regurgitate what the White House *says* the orders do as opposed to what they can *actually* do based on the text and controlling law.

In Burbank this morning, I met a couple who told me they still didn’t know if their house was still standing.
We looked it up online and got the good news together.
It was still there.

Anyone who blames the city of LA for the response to the fires has never lived in LA. If they had, they would know that "LA" is several different cities run by completely independent governments.
