Legislation creates a Federal Tax Escrow Account in the state treasury. Instead of employers forwarding collected federal taxes to Washington, they send them to the state. The state holds the money in escrow. A legislative panel reviews federal spending for constitutional compliance.

hey, I work here! my team supported more than 3,200 journalists this year... that's 50% more than last year. if you've got donating to do, please send some $ our way!
2025 has been a year unlike anything we've seen in the US.

In the second Trump administration, attacks on journalists are no longer sporadic. They're systematic.

This #GivingTuesday, consider donating to support freedom of the press, so we can keep on fighting: freedom.press/donate

San Francisco wants to build social housing to make housing for all a reality, and the City needs a plan to get there. So we issued an RFP to develop one! Hope this reaches even one or two more people who could answer the RFP who wouldn't have seen this otherwise.

ALWAYS hold them to the principles, everything is aspirational

Even lip service should be encouraged then hold whoever to it
While this usually isn't the intent, "no one will ever be held accountable for this" doomerism is an excuse not to try.

There'll be at least some accountability if enough Americans work for it. And this time really is different. Doesn't guarantee the aftermath will be, but it increases the chances.

I pushed a new release of 'goat' (v0.2.0)!

the main update is that most of the lexicon tooling from 'glot' got merged in, so you can 'goat lex pull app.bsky.feed.' etc

the commands changed a bit which might impact CI usage (hopefully for the better!)

This is all true but

1) under no definition are we currently at war with Venezuela under domestic US law

2) since we aren’t, the initial strike was just as much a murder as the follow up

The failure to understand this by a huge range of actors is really driving me up the wall.
If the Venezuelan sailors were enemy combatants, then the 2nd strike is a war crime.

If the Venezuelan sailors weren’t enemy combatants, then both strikes are criminal murder.

It’s that simple.
