"Local utility outages are possible. High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind," the statement said."

Outsiders wonder why Torontonians are cynical & jaded. It's $12B tax-funded transit project that began 14yrs ago & still isn't finished despite promise after promise. Plus our corrupt cops & provincial premier who HATES the city. Their comms are a case study in what not to do.

If you need to do online holiday shopping, check this out. Look to your local independent shops for bricks and mortar shopping.
Hey #Canada,

A message from Common Goods.

When you buy from a #Canadian #business, that money circulates in our #economy: Canadian employees, suppliers, and tax revenue that funds our way of life.

When you buy from Amazon or foreign-owned drop shippers? That wealth leaves.

If you're looking for something to do downtown on Saturday, check out Jamii's market. It's pretty close to the Distillery if you're already going there for the Christmas market. It's at 264 The Esplanade. #toronto #thingstodo #jamii

On one hand: this is bad for Québec.
On the other: I hope bilingue docs consider going to under-served northern ON francophone communities. The ON govt should offer them incentives to go to those places. So very like the QC govt to cut off its nose to spite its face. #canada #healthcare

Today, #toronto 25-yr-old monthly #homelessmemorial coincides with Remembrance Day. The connection? WWII vets fought for our national housing program. PM @markcarneyforpm.bsky.social budget does not include the $$ for his housing promises.

I can hear the 48th Highlanders pipes and drums playing and marching in the snow. In other years, I've gone out to watch them, but not today in this weather. They're made of sterner stuff than I am. This is their pre-Remembrance Day event. #toronto

Wow, there are some ugly poor winners out there. Luckily, I get to live in & be a citizen of Canada & they...don't. I go to bed knowing that I have access to a social safety net & universal healthcare. I know I'll get over the loss of the world series w/o being a poor loser.
November 2, 2025 at 4:58 AM
That loss hurts but the Jays really fought & pushed the Dodgers right to the very end. Some players got recognized in this series for being reliable & great players who sometimes are overlooked at the bottom of the order. The Jays have heart above it all. There's always next year. #bluejays
