The comp B draft pick that the Mariners gave up in this trade, probably pushes it slightly into the bad value territory.
But I'm fine with that. Just like the Luis Castillo trade was bad value. The team needs to be taking risks by making bad value trades to make the MLB club better.

Alright first initial thought? Big thumbs up on this trade. The switch pitcher experience was looking like a failure, Ben Williamson can't hit, and ok losing Tai Peete sucks, but that's the price they gotta pay.

After starting with three shitty episodes, Starfleet Academy finally has it's first good episode.
Also, cool as hell that they showed the Athena has three parts. The actual ship, which is just a small saucer. The Academy, which is the neck, and the stardrive section so the whole thing can warp.

Not remotely surprising he didn't get a multi-year deal. If you believe in the projections that he will bounce back to a 1.5 win player. $12M makes sense.

Besides, the one excellent character this show has, which is the half Klingon/half Jem'Hadar. is already the stereotypical warrior "honor/kill everything!" character.
Starfleet Academy is a bad show so far, for a lot of reasons. But if you think the show is bad because the Klingon is a pacifist, then you are a fucking moron.
It is VERY well established in canon that there are other caste's in Klingon culture other than warriors with multiple character examples.
