Carlos Vargas in 2025 was an extreme ground ball pitcher in front of one of the worst infields in MLB. How’d the go? No pitcher suffered more from the defense behind them (-11 OAA).
Pitchers and catchers report in about 40 days. Few if any Mariners have more to prove this spring than Carlos Vargas.

Carlos Vargas in 2025 was an extreme ground ball pitcher in front of one of the worst infields in MLB. How’d the go? No pitcher suffered more from the defense behind them (-11 OAA).
Struggling to make sense of the Kraken at the moment. Four game win streak. Special teams looking massively improved. Top two players back in the lineup; Schwartz and Montour back soon-ish. Encouraging signs from several young players. And still getting dominated by xG, Corsi, etc.
During their four game winning streak, the #SeaKraken have been surviving off their goaltending. (The Kraken scored two empty net goals against the Flyers.)
