I found Ferrer to show up near Vargas on a lot of leaderboards. Similar pitchers overall.
The good news is the Nats infield defense was even worse than the Mariners last year and he suffered no ill effects. I think Vargas just kinda got unlucky.

@goose1701.com Am I correct that the year end number for 2025 incorporates the bonus pool? In which case the Mariners are likely budgeting an additional ~$15M not yet reflected in the sheet? Just in terms of deciphering how much they have left to spend this offseason -- so closer to $20M available

it also appears that in the timeline of documents (email timestamps), the sale of the Modesto Nuts to Diamond Baseball Holdings occurred after the Mariners and the city of Modesto were not able to come to an agreement regarding improvements to John Thurman Field
