It's a cliche now that both parties are the same leadership with different branding and form, but in some really important ways it's the form that is the same. Cults of loyalty and conformity where it's NEVER the fault of leaders and always the fault of perfidious voters.

We need a federal jobs guarantee, not even to protect from AI so much as to undermine the displacement logic of AI hype
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

The Left has never reckoned with the full implications of functional finance and as a result we STILL talk about available jobs and resources as a finite or natural number rather than a provisioning process that can be dilated to any qualitative shape and size.
