the $75 million Jeff Bezos set on fire for that Melania propaganda piece could have funded most independent newsrooms for literally decades
always bears repeating that this is NOT a financial decision. jeff bezos is worth over 250 billion dollars. he can afford to lose many millions and never even notice it. this is, at its core, a political and personal decision by bezos to destroy the post
WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington Post says one-third of its staff across all departments, not just the newsroom, is being laid off.
February 4, 2026 at 3:11 PM
What is happening at the @washingtonpost.com is 100% the fault of Jeff Bezos. He has destroyed the reputation of the post through his actions during the election, antagonized the papers audience and has hired useless stooges to implement his destruction. This is no longer incompetence but intention.

If you are a SpaceX investor you now own a social media platform known as a haven for white supremacy & an AI platform known for generating non-consensual sexual images.

I suppose Musk's dream of space based AI compute centers is to escape any control.

Great deal if you are a misogynistic, racist.
February 3, 2026 at 3:35 AM
Someone please make this make sense to me.

AI needs things we can't have on earth. So we need space data centers. WTF???

Maybe we just don't need the AI? Occam's razor, maybe?
Old challenge: finding data-center electricity.

New challenge: finding qualified astronauts.

admin position is that any crossing outside port of entry is criminal. So this reduces nothing. more smoke screen to bamboozle Senate Dems.

Plus ICE/CBP just ignore it anyway.

New on @puck.news

Susan Collins announced today that Noem has "ended" ICE operations in Maine. This was a crucial victory for her as ICE is the latest of a long list of political headaches as she is expected to gear up for another reelection bid.

Perhaps @senatedemocrats.bsky.social might want to pivot to impeaching Trump and Vance instead of asking for ICE reforms that ICE will just ignore.
An extraordinary document. Read it.

“Attached to this order is an appendix that identifies 96 court orders that ICE has violated in 74 cases. … ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.”

Direct attention away from Trump. He is a monster who will never change. He lies abut reform. Focus on his enablers & defenders in Congress.

I think enough can be convinced to impeach and remove him and Vance.

Hey @chmnmendelson.bsky.social

DC needs alternate side parking during snow emergencies. 1st night one side of a street is closed. 2nd it switches. Then plows clear the whole street rather than a strip down the middle which they replow to no effect.

Open garages for free to get cars off roads.

It seems clear Trump and Vance are reacting to the negative reaction to the ICE killing, but not to the killing itself.

Trump and Vance immediately defended ICE and will continue to demonize protestors. Removing ICE and CBP leaders may change tactics slightly but not strategy.

I think that may be true. I’m shocked that the calls for impeachment are staying mostly focused on DHS and not the president overseeing the whole thing.

To my Republican colleagues who know better but remain silent in the face of mounting violence and corruption, I ask this sincerely: why did you come to Congress? Was it to defend the Constitution, the rule of law, and the people you represent, or to look the other way when it becomes inconvenient?

We need to clamor for that even if the votes aren't there—yet.

If any wont acknowledge the tyranny and support impeaching and removing Trump and Vance unelect them and never forget.

That is fascism. It is tyranny. It is governmental criminality.

And the ultimate legal check the Framers of our Constitution provided to stop this kind of tyranny and criminality in the executive branch is impeachment and removal of the executive.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

I remember being taught (or thinking) as a kid that most of the people of the Soviet Union were good and kind. Only their leaders were brutalists.

I now only hope that until we unelect or impeach this regime, the rest of the world will remember that about us.

I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.

The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.

horrible. Be thankful ICE isn’t in your neighborhood And thankful the people of Minnesota are acting the way we all hope we would act in the face of tyramy.

More lives will be lost.
