In other surprise news:

I only go to work because they pay me.
"your cat only loves you because you feed her"
yes! of course she loves me because I feed her! She is a tiny vulnerable creature with no way of caring for herself! If you lived at the mercy of giant god-like beings 10x your size who fed & cared for you & petted you wouldn't you love them too?

It's like the only way to keep shows or movies nowadays is to pirate them if the studios aren't willing to make physical media for them anymore
‘She-Ra and the Princesses of Power’ is scheduled to leave Netflix on February 21, 2026.

Mark is valiantly beating the drum re: physical media and its availability and affordability, but it should be noted that owning a disc doesn't necessarily mean you have to stay locked to the format. I ripped my entire disc collection at full quality to a media server which streams to my TV.
Because if you care about securely owning a movie that you love--as opposed to "owning" it only until a license agreement over which you have no control expires without warning--you need a DVD or Blu-ray. The hardware may be yesterday; the concern is very much of this moment.
Why do (us) old people want to burden Gen Z with our nostalgia for an antique piece of hardware in the first place?

My state finally did something right, and it's not being talked about nearly enough.
This is an impeachment offense, and if our press were worth half of a quarter of a shit, it would be all over every single channel, kind of like Joe Biden being a bit slow with a name now and then.
This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…
