In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.
Disabled son of ICE detainee dies after 30 days of hospitalization
It had been months since Wael Tarabishi seen his father. The family is calling on ICE to release Maher Tarabishi so he may attend his son's funeral.

A must read👇

After a sweeping, Republican-led review of more than 2 million voter registrations, Utah election officials identified just one apparent noncitizen in their voter rolls — who never voted. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
Utah reviewed its voter rolls for noncitizens. It found one. Who never voted
The results sharply undercut the narrative of widespread noncitizen voting Republicans are using to promote new nationwide restrictions on voting.

Good, clear explanation. FYI.
FYI: Dems in the senate can't defund ICE. ICE is funded by the Big Ugly Bill. Shutting down DHS on this vote wouldn't touch ICE, but it would shut down FEMA, TSA, Coast Guard, etc. Shutting down ICE requires taking back Congress in the midterms. Dismantling DHS requires the White House in 2028.

I'm not one for false optimism. But what I witnessed today in Minneapolis was tremendous, both in scale and exuberance. It was a stunning answer to the federal assault on Minnesota, a show of solidarity that gives us something to hold on to during times that are unforgiving.
“Everybody Showed Up”: Stunning Crowds at Minnesota Day of Strike and Shutdown Against ICE
Extreme cold didn't stop the shutdown on Friday as some 100 faith leaders were arrested, residents stayed home from work, and an estimated 50,000 or more marched through downtown Minneapolis.

Ro Khanna: “J.D. Vance just doesn't know the law. There's never been absolute immunity for ICE officers — they can be prosecuted, they usually are prosecuted criminally for violations. There is qualified immunity, means if they don't clearly violate civil rights statutes, they can't face civil suit”

Businesses shut down. Churches targeted. Protesters jailed. A 5-year-old taken by ICE. This isn’t law enforcement...it’s raw...corrupt power...flexing to see what Americans will tolerate. And that...is one hell of a question.

Trump's actions in Venezuela fit with his desire to divert attention from his failures at home: his losses in the courts, his unpopular budget bill, skyrocketing health insurance premiums, the cost of living crisis, etc.

When he feels humiliated, he gets reckless.

Understand what's going on.
