100%… It all ends up in the ED. If we want to reduce hospital overcrowding, we need to stop criminalizing the unhoused, and give them a place to call home. This is basic human rights.

Everyday in our overflowing EDs we see the ramifications of homeless political policy: more policing simply = more catch and release to NO SUPPORTS and nothing to help break the cycle.
Opinion: Cuts have left Edmonton's homeless with nowhere to go
Too few Edmontonians are aware a tidal wave of recent funding cuts and closures has wiped the city’s daytime drop-in spaces off the map.

Candidates in the upcoming Edmonton municipal election should be asked if they think it's an appropriate use of public money for the Edmonton Police Service to maintain a unit to monitor the social media of critics, including journalists.

A timely opinion piece. Edmonton's winters have been hell for the unhoused for several years now, and as temperatures drop all of that's about to come right back—frostbites, risky encampments in the woods, people piled into transit centres and buses for warmth, all of it.

Between Edmonton Police interfering in an ongoing case and Calgary Police endorsing political candidates, we’re seeing law enforcement in this province cross lines that will only erode the public’s trust in their activities. You should also not vote for any politician who believes this is ok.

Another day of reconciliation day is over, yet the children of Indigenous mothers continue to die from a poisoned drug supply.

The #UCP is causing anxiety for people with disabilities who face a $200 benefit cut by losing #AISH and being forced on the new ADAP benefit. Taking money from those already vulnerable. The Alberta model!
