Waiting for a loved one to step through the veil into the far-off land is honestly surreal. I’m not sure if it’s my autistic head or it’s a normal thing to feel??? There’s loss, sadness, guilt, but also the tiny part of me that wishes it was all over so the living can go on living again.

Been to a lot of places in the States. Chicago is the one city that I feel most at home. Didn’t get mugged in East Division, went to Wrigley Field, drove on the Dan Ryan and didn’t get lost, saw the Picasso, found the Kingston Mines… Chicago is my kind of town and F**k ICE and TRUMP and the GOP.

But then I looked after my adopted Ma for 4 years and I realise now he was in a miserable marriage and just trying to find some joy or happiness in any way he could. And I feel sorry for him and a little bit more love. Strange things, families. Oiche mhaith.

It was my (adopted) Da‘s anniversary today. It’s sad that I‘m Not sure if it’s 20 or 21 or 22 years. I’m not much good with these things. I didn‘t have a great relationship with him. He tried to live his dreams vicariously through me and it didn’t fit.
