A Note from Our Executive Director

At LGBTQ Senior Housing, our core mission is to serve low-income LGBTQ older adults and allies by providing affirming, income-restricted housing and programs that uplift and celebrate our LGBTQ family, our communities, and our neighborhood. 1/

Amazon is helping fund a $300 million build of a ballroom for the White House.

Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity.

They are not the same.
Omg you made me laugh so hard I woke up the cat!

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

When an At-Large saw fit to demean “men in wigs” during a tragic incident in Southie, and found support for BS, 👉🏼 it was Santana who stood up.

Councilor Santana has been a leading voice for vulnerable populations 👉🏼 when it matters.
Misogyny, racism, heterosexism all make us stupid and continue to hobble progress.
i think i would honestly find this whole discourse more tolerable if people simply said what they were actually saying, which is that they think the Democratic Party is too associated with femininity (and secondarily, with black people) and that they want to correct this

If members of the United States military are truly being paid their salaries by a private individual, the American people should know who that individual is. Now.
We don’t have a death penalty for drug traffickers, even those interdicted on the high seas, charged, and convicted after trial.
"Well, I don't think we're gonna necessarily ask for a declaration of war. I think we're just gonna kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. Okay? We're gonna kill them. You know, they're gonna be, like, dead. Okay? Yeah."

The Big Cities Health Coalition, which serves over 60 million or 1 in 5 people in the US, has issued a statement condemning the federal government's moves to limit vaccine access and spread disinformation. The cities are working together to ensure people get vaccinated.
Lifted up by Rachel Maddow’s increasingly giddy 50-state run down of #NoKings protests, particularly on the day the president sicced a backhoe on the White House. @maddow.msnbc.com
Lots of folks laughing at this story but for pete’s sake, when did law enforcement throwing people to the ground become standard operating procedure? This protestor wasn’t going anywhere fast and there’s was no need to assault and batter her.

There are NO KINGS in America.

That's why we resist, agitate, organize, and mobilize.

Because the only way to beat a dictator is with defiance.

Of course women don’t like the Cybertruck.

Women want just one thing, and it’s the red pickup from the 1996 movie Bound.
Exactly this. And states need to step up and create ways for us to pay our federal taxes to them to support programs and services being cut or discontinued by the administration.
Chris Murphy: "This is a country that's falling apart because Trump is in the middle of an authoritarian takeover. We're not on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We're in the middle of it ... I have no moral obligation to vote for a budget that literally funds the destruction of our democracy"
