Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Verso looks confused in the fire, he wonders why he just shouted "come to me Ifrit" right now, and why everything got very fiery. The image is black and white, with the orange and red elements retaining a orangey red colour. His outfit also retains this, it's one that has fire elements incorporated. The background is blurred and dark. There are embers scattered in the air, and a large fire engulfing Verso. The joke is that Ben Starr, the voice actor of Verso, also played Clive from Final Fantasy XVI who summons Ifrit.

Playing around with the shutter mode on Ghost of Yotei, and realised you could make this really nice effect with the ashes. I thought it was mesmerising.

Windswept is a fun indie platformer that is pretty difficult if you're aiming to grab all of the collectibles. It's heavily inspired by classic Donkey Kong Country games and draws influences from Celeste and other platformers. It has no story but doesn't really need one.

This is my review for...
The logo for Windswept is seen at the top ✅️ I very much enjoy the pixel art and animations. Marbles the Duck and Checkers the Turtle look so cute. The environments are gorgeous and colorful. ✅️ The music works well with the tone of the game, but I find it to be quite generic. A few tracks stand out. (I was going to make this a con, but some of the songs help soothe me during any level frustrations.) ✅️ The buddy system is fantastic. The duck can spin on the ground to move faster and glide through the air, and the turtle can use ground pounds and spin attacks. They also need each other to reach new heights and to grab optional collectibles. ✅️ Couch co-op is available. ✅️ The game keeps track of collectibles you find in a level if you're aiming for 100% completion. This is so handy if you think you're missing something. Some collectibles are hidden extremely well. ✅️ Collectibles unlock new areas, harder difficulty modes, minigames, music to listen to, and more. ✅️ Easter eggs from different games are fun to find. ✅️ I love the accessibility! There's button remapping, the option to retry bonus stages, slowing down gameplay, invincibility, and more. There's modifiers to make the game much harder as well, like checkpoints being removed and death upon grabbing coins. ❌️ Some levels are inconsistent in difficulty. ❌️ Animal ride-ons feel somewhat clunky and are hard to maneuver in sections with tons of enemies.

The finale of The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity is so BEAUTIFUL 😭😭😭

This has become one of my favorite anime. It's a wonderfully written slice of life/love story with lots of awkwardly cute moments. I'd love another season, but if that's it, then it ended pretty damn well. PEAK ROMANCE 🥹💜

Trails in the Sky: 1st Chapter is an excellent remake of the very first Trails game. I had an amazing time with this 🥹💜

While newcomers can start at the beginning of any arc, I'd say that this remake should be the first stop just to prevent any story/character spoilers.

This is my review for...
At the top is the logo for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. ✅️ The remake modernizes the original game by using 3D graphics and adds in new content and features, making it more accessible to newcomers and veterans. ✅️ The art/animation is among the best in the Trails series. Characters, monsters, and environments are all very detailed. ✅️ The music has been updated while being faithful to the original soundtrack. Absolutely amazing. ✅️ The battle system is a combination of the ones in the Cold Steel and Daybreak arcs. I like how it keeps things simplistic and not overly complicated. ✅️ Optional objectives, hidden quests, and missables are much easier to find. ✅️ The remake adds full voice acting, which was not available in the original’s initial release. Voiceovers are very well done, though Liberl and Calvard have different pronunciations than the rest of the Trails games, at least in English. ✅️ The inclusion of Sepith Mass means it's much easier to earn Mira, which provides a big advantage of currency early in the game. ✅️ The accessibility is wonderful. There's a high speed mode for faster navigation and battles, button remapping, normal/inverted camera movement, the difficulty can be changed at any time, and more. ❌️ The gameplay can feel bland at times, especially with no minigames added to the remake. I would have loved to fish like in most other Trails games.

I didn't use any reference at all for this and haven't really drawn dragons in ages, so anatomy may not be the best, but It was fun :D

Last night, by my 5th run I’d made it to Hades 2’s 3rd boss, and I had moment where I felt it:

So long as I don’t burn out on the roguelite repetition, Hades 2 won’t only be a top 5 game for me this year, but it’ll be the 1st contender to break into my top 3 since May 😱
