Funny animal videos no longer being trustworthy just fucking sucks all around. I love the wonder of animal behavior and what it says about the experience of being alive. It's because it happened in reality that it's so fun. It's not fun if it was just made up. There's no wonder there.

Carr's Senate testimony made clear what critics have been saying for months: the FCC is now a tool of the Trump administration. www.readtpa.com/p/the-fcc-ju...
The FCC Just Admitted It's Not Independent Anymore
During today's Senate hearing, Brendan Carr denied the FCC is independent. Minutes later, someone edited the agency's website to remove the word.

During questioning, FCC Chair Brendan Carr was asked whether the FCC is an independent agency. Sen. Luján specifically cited the FCC website calling it “independent.”

I took a screenshot of the site at 11:54 am

I took another at 12:22 pm and the word “independent” was gone.

From Sara Fischer over on the Bad Place: The FCC deleted the part about the agency being independent mid-hearing.

I swear to god...this might push me over the edge. A SMART TOILET??? I'm begging people to be serious. We must stop feeding into the madness of making every household item "smart." Don't buy this shit.

"All is lost" narratives are popular because people generally do not want to take action. Taking action is tiring so if all is lost, you are off the hook. Nothing is more seductive than not having to do anything.

so many layers of bullshit to peel back here, but maybe my favorite one is that tech companies keep insisting data centers are "local job creators." hm? in space?
“In a decade, Pichai said that it'll be normal to build extraterrestrial data centers”.

And he’s definitely not the only one speaking about the *necessity* of data centers in space. Apparently the planet is not big enough for their scaling “laws”.

Sundar Pichai says Google will start building data centers in space, powered by the sun, in 2027
Google announced Project Suncatcher earlier this month. CEO Sundar Pichai now says it could begin building data centers in space as soon as 2027.

Now that I've had a few days to mourn the Spirit's championship loss, it's time to mourn yet another national nightmare:

The NWSL off season

Where am I supposed to go to scream about *gestures broadly* in a contained setting until March???

CBS is SO. BAD. at carrying NWSL games. Their ability to cut away from live play to replays or commercials is truly incredible [derogatory]
