Perhaps it all became too boring/overwhelming for Syd, and he spent the rest of his days trying to balance that dynamic.

The documentary paints a different picture of the "Syd mythology"

He strikes me as an artist who became uninterested in the form of art he was involved in.

Worth a watch.

Oh man. I have had some sessions in 🇮🇪 pubs. I worked at a festival in Dublin years ago and ended up staying in a nearby pub as I couldn't face the festival. The Guinness flowed that weekend. What a crazy few days that was. So much laughter.
