Trump likes people who win, especially if they start as underdogs, and Mandani did.

And I bet he thinks he's commiserating with someone who has been treated unfairly in the press, because on the news sources Trump consumes (Fox etc.) Mamdani has been turned into a supervillain.
Trump on Mamdani: "I think he's gonna surprise some conservative people, actually. And some very liberal people he won't surprise because they already like him."

Conservatives want to pitch the White House demolition as YIMBY. This is a bad-faith brain-dead take.

You don't want expansive historic reviews for building new homes.

You do want expansive historic reviews for *demolishing the White House.*

Well, it's finally a real thing! Our funny, helpful, NOT-just-about-freakin menopause book about getting to get what you want in your 40s and 50s, tentatively titled "Midseason Plot Twist!" (we've been through quite a few changes), will be out in Fall 2026!

Call it the East Megawing, Trump's new ballroom is "the most on-the-nose embodiment of let-them-eat-cake Versailles extravagance — just as he throws old people off Medicare and kids off food stamp."

From Joseph Heller's (satire!) 'Catch-22':

"Then there was the educated Texan…who looked like someone in Technicolor and felt, patriotically, that people of means—decent folk—should be given more votes than drifters, whores, criminals, degenerates, atheists and indecent folk—people without means."
JD Vance is suggesting that neo-Nazis and the descendents of confederate soldiers have more claim to being part of this nation because they're white than immigrants who believe in the Declaration of Independence.

This kind of blood and soil nationalism is indistinguishable from classic fascism.
