Well now, would you look at that?

A massive study of NEARLY 300,000 people in the United States found that receiving an updated 2024-2025 mRNA COVID-19 vaccine REDUCED people’s risk of severe disease AND death in ALL age groups, REGARDLESS of immunity from prior infection or vaccination.
And yet RFK Jr, a lawyer not a doctor, thinks he knows better and is dismantling the US public health system as we speak. Insanity.
Or a freaking recorder! Own goal by me, I admit.
It’s wild times. And I can’t tell what’s due to social media reporting or what’s really happening.
I’m a UC Berkeley alum, Master in Public Health and PhD in Epidemiology. Still have my SF library card. I have in-laws who don’t believe dinosaurs existed because it’s not in the Old Testament.
I am truly scared for you all, to the point of tears. My kids are dual citizens. All my US friends work in health research. I watch more US news than I do Australian news. Keep up the fight, Trump’s US is not the great country I’ve known. Xxxx
I am one of the privileged few with an EV. I used my small inheritance from the death of my parents, with a personal top up, to afford one. I am grateful to be in my position.
I no longer live in the US. Do you think they will blindly march themselves into an uneducated morass? It’s so fucking sad. I lived and loved in the US thru the 80s and 90s. We survived Reagan. But oh boy, WTF?
Absolutely. Especially education. Is that a subset of culture? I'm driven mad by many of my cohorts.
They have an Education agenda?
I think we're keeping the latex dog toy industry in business. I'm surprised that Indi does not destroy them, somehow she just kills the squeak within them.
Oh yes, we've had the resource guarding with rubber piggies and rhinos as well.

This is your daily reminder that not everyone on here is american. Especially people posting this time of day.
Oh, I hear you. I'm an old white person and I do not get on with most of my cohort.
It's gotten to the point on a Prosecco-fuelled Saturday night that I've had to hide it. But yes, I'll get on that.
Taqueria, 155 Fitzroy Street, St Kilda. So good.
Getting my German Shepherd a squeaking rubber chicken is NOT one of my best decisions.
Thanks. Had a great night. Discovered a great Mexican restaurant in St Kilda; best Mexican food I’ve had since I left California 25 years ago.
And if you get the chance, tell the musicians (or the chef) how much you enjoyed their work. Buy the merch, leave a tip.
I swear, finding new music is still the best thing ever. (Besides great food, which is also the best.) People, open your ears to new and different music. Go see bands at small places, read reviews, have a crack at something different. #music
Alas, I’m in a bar watching music and drinking. Hopefully it will clear up before I leave for home.
