THREAD.

3 years ago, with no warning, a brilliant orange farm cat wandered over from the draughty barn where he had been living, in rural Cornwall, and decided he wanted to live with us instead.

We decided to call him Jim.

This is the first photo I took of him, on that night: December 1st, 2022.

A trip to Leeds this week and a chance to visit the fabulous arcades in the city centre. So many surviving and in excellent condition. County Arcade is particularly lovely and described by MacKeith in The History and Conservation of Shopping Arcades as ‘flamboyant’

Is there anyone out there who knows about the Health and Cleanliness Council?
It seems to have been active 1920s-40s UK and to have had links with the Electrical Association for Women.
