I’ve often heard that it’s good to work towards goals that won’t be realized in your own lifetime. Now at 65, I get a sense of what those goals are: build back democracy, establish Medicare for all, turn around climate change, build affordable housing for all.
In Minnesota we are proud of our Somali-American neighbors. Somali-Americans are entrepreneurs, developers, healthcare workers--they are fully integrated into the Twin Cities' society. #Somalis

This is so deeply at odds with the vision and history of America. Take pretty much any ethnic or racial group that are part of the American mosaic America today - they have all faced the same accusation. The moment these accusations are turned into policy are some of the most shameful in US history

I’ve been noticing more and more media outlets simply referring to people who use they/them pronouns with…they/them pronouns, rather than prefacing their pronouns with an explanatory remark (“Kai, who uses they/them pronouns, said…”)

Yes to normalizing this pronoun use.

As a child we celebrated #Thanksgiving in rural Indiana with a huge farmer feast; fifty years later I’ll be celebrating in Indianapolis with nursing home institutional food. So glad I can still see one of my elder relatives.
