This is why I'm always mad at videogame collections leaving out the bad spin offs and versions. Playing shitty games is part of 1) getting to know a series 2) being a fan of anything 3) enjoying a medium. They want you to think playing the ones that got +80 on Metacritic is the same and it isn't

This is also how you sometimes pick up something that is truly awful and that is part of it too. You can't develop a critical sense if you only watch/read/play stuff that's wildly acclaimed

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste

Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

Texto escrito en la review en Infinite Backlog del juego de Juno Menager "A todas las palomas de Madrid le faltan dedos" con un 10/10, el texto dice lo siguiente: Escuchar a Juno siempre te remueve por dentro y creo que no podría haber definido mejor cómo esta ciudad no es para nosotres, y cómo intentar transitarla se convierte en un proceso en el que si no tienes cuidado acabas como esas palomas: con el cuerpo atrofiado y arrancado en el asfalto. Pese a que a veces me gustaría mirar a Madrid como lo hace Sabina con la nostalgia de sus canciones, realmente esto es lo que la ciudad te ofrece si no eres un viejo rico putero como él. Por más juegos que sean poemas a los que volver de vez en cuando para regocijarse en un dolor compartido y no sentirme solo ante todos estos problemas.
