I knit tiny nonsense.

There's also likely to be a fair bit of swearing.
Found this on the side of the road. Almost left it, but then saw that the top opened.

So of course I brought it home, cleaned it up, oiled it, and replaced the knobs.

And now it (briefly) looks like this. Its real use for me will be as a plant stand, but we needed the rainbow thread pic!

Series of thoughts, more or less in order:

1: Ohhhh, pretty!
2: God fucking dammit...oh wait, there's another one on the other side...do I even actually know how to knit?
3: Hold on, I can fix it...
4: I shall now be smugly satisfied that at least my mistakes teach me to be good at fixing things.

My country is inaugurating a fascist rapist today. Again. Instead of a competent woman. Again. And that's doing a number on my brain, so I'm going to spend the day working on the next iteration of this.

Oh this is beautiful!!!

And I want a story of that border guard's thoughts!
The Lindal Skjørt knitting pattern is available on Ravelry at www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

I was so thrilled to capture these images during my holiday on Grand Manan Island, NB, CA. Traveling with a full size dress form, on the other hand, did cause some delays at the border. lol

Libraries are so damn cool!

My local library is doing a four week embroidery class, and it's been so fun. First two weeks turned out this, and you can totally come join for the next two weeks if you're so inclined!

I'm trying out tiktok. Which I realize this is hilariously bad timing, what with the ban. But whatever, that's what being a small business is like!

So, if you're on there come find me: www.tiktok.com/@HunterHamme...

I don't know what I'm doing, so there may be amusing mistakes! 🧶

I thought I was done knitting urchins. I really did.

But then you see I found myself somewhere that sold beads.

And I was quickly overcome. As so often happens.

So now there must be at least a few more urchins.

I'm sure you understand.

Remember those pinchy pinch purses your grandma had in her bag? The ones where you pretended they were monster mouths when you opened them?

How about a knitted version?

Going 'chomp chomp chomp' is optional, but encouraged!

Was NOT expecting to do a plug (hence the stumbling awkwardness) but EVERY dollar truly helps and I couldn’t be more grateful. We’ve survived almost 2 years now mostly on donations of $50 or less. givebutter.com/WAWCclinic

Correct.
Gonna have to say, that’s a “yes” from me, dog.

I possess:

1) an eye-searingly bright pink sweater with substandard buttons (& bonus kitten guardian)

2) three options for slightly better buttons

3) plans spend tomorrow evening at one of the rare events at which this sweater would be appropriate

4) crippling indecision

Help me pick!

This is fine. This is a reasonable thing to do with both my time and yarn. Totally fine. Absolutely normal. No need for alarm. 🧶

I have successfully done a bookshelf purge.

I have 3 tall bookcases in the dining room, and between them I was able to locate 20 books that are ready to go live happier lives somewhere else.

This, plus a little rearranging, led to the creation of One Empty Shelf, which I shall fill with plants.

All of this.

Plus amazon's new return policy is traaaaash.

I have to take anything I want to return to Staples, which is more than an hour of driving for me. They require this even if the item is damaged/defective. They charge for other options.

This policy has cut my orders by at least 75%.
Important thread to read: New reason not to order books online from Amazon. And this one is especially sleazy.

I also warn folks that they haven’t shipped books in sturdy boxes in a long time. They use the thinnest low-end padded mailers they can. Your book will arrive damaged, period.
Please don't buy paperbacks (or any books) from Amazon. For many many reasons, including that the company will ship crummy print-on-demand copies of books when their stock runs out. For the same price and with no indication that the book is facsimile.

The plant I thought was dying has made a bunch of new leaves.

This is one of the five good feelings.

Others include "happy cat on me," "excellent leftovers in the fridge for lunch," "fresh sheets," and "ooooh, I forgot I'd already done that bit, now I'm ahead of schedule."

I've got...expansion packs for both of these patterns that talk about how you do all that nifty embroidery. They came out as exclusives for members last year, but now it's time to make them available more generally. And we need to pick which one!

I've been doing this on the blog/patreon/instagram for a while, but I want to do it here too.

Every month I do a post saying “abortions are good” and send a donation to AidAccess.org (where you can order abortion pills online, even if you live somewhere with a ban, even if you’re not pregnant).
