The thing about this is that renters can like golf too. If we had no other space to put housing then, sure, get rid of the golf courses. But we should maybe try densification on the west side first

I get why people are concerned about this in principle. But in Canada we haven't had jury trials for low-level offences since...ever? A long time, anyway. The sky hasn't fallen and the slope hasn't slipped away

This is obviously completely anecdotal, but I find people in the city are really chill about my wife not drinking. It's only when we're visiting family or traveling to smaller towns that people get weird about it

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.
