My grandmother was always on a diet. One year, for Passover, she made “fat-free matza balls.”

They were so dense they were like magnets. They literally stuck to the spoon. We joked that my grandfather could play golf with them.

She was never allowed to make matza balls again.
yes, hello, I would like to place an order for everyone’s funniest stories of holiday food-related family grudges / drama / chaotic incidents / lore

I feel like we need this

@prettyscaryauthor.bsky.social edited both of my books, and they are so much better for it.
By the way, it's National Editor Appreciation Day.

Nobody ever reads a great article and thinks, "Dang, that was some tight editing." But editing is a big part of how it got to be great.

So writers, if you've ever worked with a good editor, shout 'em out.

I dreamed last night that George Michael recorded a cover of “Sound of Silence.”

It was, of course, fantastic, and now I’m disappointed that it doesn’t actually exist.

I’m pretty sure Judge Ellis is a big reason CBP fled Chicago.
Ellis repeatedly accuses multiple CBP and ICE officials of lying (under oath) and says their "widespread misrepresentations call into question everything" they "say they are doing in their characterization of what is happening." She broadly discredits their testimony as objectively false.
U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis just handed down the written opinion version of her preliminary injunction order, regarding use of force by federal agents in Chicago.

It's the one already put on hold by the 7th Circuit.

It's 233 pages.

I’m a . . . STABLE genius?
I have just learned the acronym STABLE (Stash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy) in reference to craft supplies, and it is so rude of the English language to call me out like that

I need someone to write this book so I can read it.
Gosh, but that would make a fascinating book…to hear women’s voices years after the Revolution and how they viewed it in terms of their rights.

This weekend, I wrote about Penny:

Last week-ish, I saw a sale on dog Halloween costumes and found 2 costumes that were perfect for Penny and Ozzie. I ordered them. They arrived today.

Grease would have been the word next Halloween.
