It's amazing how resistance takes form according to the uniqueness of anyone who is passionate about justice. A local band is sponsoring an evening with two other bands to support immigrants and be anti-ICE, to let people know that no one is alone. #Indivisible

Way overdue but great news
Wow — Senators Van Hollen, Smith, Murphy, Sanders, Warren, Markey, Merkley, Heinrich have created an official internal "Fight Club."

They're challenging Schumer & Gillibrand's leadership, arguing the party is using an old, corporate-friendly playbook insufficient to take on Trump or win elections.

Are they getting the message?
A Democrat who was elected sheriff in Pennsylvania this month hopes others are watching: “It sends a message to elected public safety officials across the country that partnering with ICE is a loser in a district that’s remotely a swing district.”
Voters Ousted This Pennsylvania Sheriff After He Signed Up to Collaborate With ICE
A populous swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.

This is good news for the fishermen of Lincoln County. Removing the copter was a dangerous and cruel act by a fragile punitive regime.

BREAKING NEWS: Trump's latest authoritarian attempt to persecute his political opponents has failed.

A judge dismissed the cases against James Comey & Letitia James after finding the prosecutor was illegally appointed.

This is a victory for the American people & the rule of law.

Some of y'all:
Stop comparing ICE treatment of immigrants to police treatment of Black people!

Me:
No.

People immediately understand how ICE deportation quotas cause immediate and systemic harm to immigrant populations, and shred families apart.

But pretend not to understand police arrest quotas?
Classic video. I will never stop sharing this.

Do you think Black people want this cop running around their city with a ticket quota and an arrest quota, ruining the lives of Black people for no reason?

Or trained and working as a detective, solving homicides, SAs, and returning stolen property?

the economic success of the U.S. is significantly built on the land grant universities and in particular their excellent agricultural science tradition.
Really important to stress that the Crown Jewels of the US higher education system were never the Ivies or elite SLACs (other countries have equivalents of these) but the well-funded, large, cheap, and excellently staffed public state university systems bringing high quality education to the masses.
One of the bragging rights that the US ed system had in the 20th century is that we didn't have education tracks. Essentially, any kid could go to a CC or state school & major in whatever they wanted to (obviously an oversimplification). I fear this aspect of the American dream is dying.

Yes! It reminds of Chelsea Manning's memoir. She coordinated the prisoners to ask for an aspirin, one-by-one, something they couldn't be denied. "Overload the line dramatically and slow down the whole cycle of the day. We would be fighting back while still following the letter of the law."
