"What do I play next?"

A paralyzing choice for so many of us, but...

On Infinite Backlog, once you add your games to your collection, you can sort by "Time to beat".

This can help identify short, fulfilling games you can easily knock off your backlog in shorter sessions!

Shoutout to video games~

No matter how much time passes, they'll always keep me sane & give me immense comfort when life (& the world) get so dark. I wouldn't still be here without them.

Also, shout out to @infinitebacklog.net. Me discovering the site last year is a large motivator for why I thought these resolutions up. I'll be using the site to help track my progress, so maybe it'll be easier to hold myself accountable?

2026: The Year of the Backlog
Gaming wise, 2026 might become my "Backlog Year". Playing one game for every three I buy stopped being satisfying.

I'll need to come up with some clear, quantifiable rules to make sure I give every game in there a fair chance, but also don't torture myself if I'm really not enjoying it.

I'm staging an intervention for myself.

I'm forever complaining about my backlog, and not actively doing anything about it. I'm going to take a page out of @herrrandom.bsky.social's book and make 2026 a backlog year.

Happy Birthday to this legend!
The game that started it all turns 38 years old today in Japan as it is now December 18th, 2025 there.

Words can’t really express what this series means to me, but I’ll try. I started this series with Final Fantasy VIII as an 8 year old child. My favorite series without a doubt ❤️😭
