For about 50 years, you could watch NHL games on Christmas.
The last Christmas game was played in 1971 and there is no chance they will ever return as the players hated the games.
This is the story of the NHL's Christmas Games.

I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

Advent is a strangely thrilling season. As nature prepares herself for the long and frozen sleep of winter, the Church calls the spirit to awake. As the days grow darker, and light fails, the Church calls us to open our eyes to the rising of a new, glorious sun ⚓

I am feeling called to do this again…

I only went on this adventure last year because I was trying to find a Church home in the region yet the experience itself was so intrinsically fulfilling

I’ve tried to reflect if I’m seeking or avoiding but I’m just a nerd and truly enjoyed this adventure
Visited 16 churches in 16 weeks from Advent into Lent.

Seeking to experience the wide range of services in my region.

One of the more interesting and fulfilling ideas I’ve ever had tbh

(of course I made a spreadsheet)

Karen’s sermon today, and the choice of this benediction by Bruce Prewer was what I needed to hear

Week 1 of #IsItJuneYet has me trying to calendar the #CFL offseason…

So far all I see confirmed is the National Combine - March 27-29 in Edmonton.

Anyone know of any other confirmed dates? Any #Ticats events planned for the offseason?

Ticats fans chanting “Argos Suck” while this graphic exists 😅
Morning Rider fans! Are you looking to upset your fellow blue and gold colleagues with a slightly skewed "but not really" stat.

Here's the number of Grey Cups each team has won since the turn of the century.

The 1962 Grey Cup became known as The Fog Bowl.
The fog was thick enough that many fans could not see action on the field. The game was suspended in the fourth quarter and continued the next day. It is the only Grey Cup to ever suspend play.
Winnipeg defeated Hamilton 28-27.
