The idea that America is disappearing people to defend Israel?

Is there even historical precedent for this? Wherein a country suppresses, imprisons, and deports individuals for their views on the practices of a different country?

The best way to secure our rights as citizens is to act as citizens - rid ourselves of apathy.

We must make tyrants shake on their cracked foundations.

Second book today. Found it a bit difficult to jive with the writing style and felt that it didn’t offer anything other than a weird finger pointing rant that never really came together.

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

Just finished. As a disabled person, this book spoke for me (and to me) in ways I hadn’t expected. Highly recommend if you’re looking to understand more on the relationship between technology and disability - both how it helps and hurts.

How is this a thing? Two months in and we’re here?

is there any reason at all that the Democratic party should not immediately demand Hegseth's resignation?

I’m now the old gay at work with a pharmacy in my bag, peppermints in my pocket, and Kleenex up my sleeve.

Today the young gay said, “you look cozy…”

So. I’m going to retire now. At 37.

Just read the full Atlantic article about the Houthi group chat. One part that stuck with me is when they say “God Bless” and send prayer emojis to each other after killing 53 people who they considered enemies because they killed others in the name of their God.

What an incredible piece of work from @versobooks.bsky.social and Rachel Marie-Crane Williams.

Stunned. 10/10. Required reading.

“Elegy for Mary Turner” is a siren call. Part historical analysis, part narrative account, part sketchbook. A true Artists’ Book. Please read this. 📚💡

In case you want some sweet news today.

I’m volunteering at the book fair at my kid’s school, and discovered Dav Pilkey paid for the whole thing.

For the entire school.

Every kid pre-k through fifth grade (the whole school) goes home with two free books.

even if they committed crimes this brutality is straight up fascistic and meant to send a message to everyone—it can happen to you in an instant
I want you to understand this is happening in our name and we know most of these men committed no crimes. One is a professional soccer player who was tortured in Venezuela and was working through asylum in the U.S. ICE shipped him for his Real Madrid tattoo and a picture throwing rock & roll horns.

Stop with the "good Republican" myth about Murkowski. She's just a reminder of how spineless the rest of the GOP is. They hide behind excuses instead of speaking truth. They only care about power.

“Let every dirty, lousy tramp arm himself with a revolver or a knife, and lay in wait on the steps of the palaces of the rich and stab or shoot the owners as they come out. Let us kill them without mercy, and let it be a war of extermination.” - Lucy Parsons

The GOP isn’t conservative, they're reactionaries. They're building a slavocracy, and it's Reconstruction 2.0. If we don't push back HARD, we're gonna see this history repeat. As Lucy Parsons said, 'Never be deceived that the rich will allow you to vote away their power.” #GOP #slavocracy

In light of the Department of Education eradication and dismantling, I thought it a good time to read, “Dangerous Learning” from Derek W. Black. Just a chapter in and already awe struck on how far we’ve regressed in these trumpian times.
