I had decided to retire to Bendigo mainly because of the Writer's Festival & arts scene. I was stunned by their action & the boycott which happened during the move.

When a festival like that starts banning uncomfortable & controversial ideas, they completely miss the reason for their existence.

This is stunning. Listen to this in Philadelphia.

Thousands singing “Hey-Oh, we won’t be silent while our friends are gunned down.”

Really listen to it.

The Adelaide Writers Festival now wrecked by the Adelaide Festival Board, half of which was appointed late last year: a marketing executive; a former politician; a local councillor/real estate agent; an airport manager; a lawyer; a media consultant; and a banker. Another public arts takeover fiasco.

This is why we desperately need new Jewish institutions, and orgs like @jewishcouncilau.bsky.social are so important.

The Bondi atrocity was committed by Indian men inspired by ISIS, a group who are emphatically not allies of Palestine.

The parties here want to obscure this to their own ends.

NSW Greens MP Kobi Shetty liked our knitted Xmas lights. But enough frivolity -they are back in Parliament tomorrow deciding on restrictions to our inalienable right to protest in our democracy. Rally tomorrow 5pm Town Hall for details.

Chris Minns’ ban on protests calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza does not foster “community harmony".

These protests oppose anti-Semitism and call for peace.

Taking our democratic rights away is only sowing more division.

Without transparency or consultation, we can’t deliver the strong protections nature needs. Once again, this govt chooses secrecy over integrity.
