Teams tend to give their homegrown talent ample opportunities to “figure it out”. I think it’s a nice story that Stearns grew up a #Mets fan but it’s time to build a winner in 2026 or join F-Mart, Milledge or Generation K (just to name a few!) in Mets lore and guys who never made it in NY. #MetsSky

After a mid-season acquisition earlier in the year, Mike Piazza signed a seven-year, $91 million contract with the #Mets on this date, October 26 in 1998. Piazza was a great Met and when it came down to it, he wanted to wear a #Mets cap in Cooperstown over the Dodgers. #MetsSky

From 1984 through the 1990 MLB seasons, the #Mets had a winning record. That’s 7 seasons in a row, which is the longest streak in franchise history. Cohen often talks about building a sustainable winner. That’s the future I want for this team. #MetsSky
