Community is for everyone.

Not matter your age, income, academic background, or otherwise, this is for you. “I don’t want to take someone else’s spot.”

No, beloved, that’s not how community works. This is your spot, because you are community.

Sora 2 is not being “misused” when people use it to produce racist, transphobic, misogynistic, & otherwise vile images—it exists to make it easier to put these images out into the world. Calling it a “misuse” is a grave misunderstanding of what these companies are up to, & lets OpenAI off the hook.

Oh yeah there was this. The billionth time he did something that would've got someone else locked up before running for this term.
It’s always been about *who you are* not *equality under the law.* This isn’t new as it’s happened with white folks against Black folks, and constantly with rich vs poor.

today's (hopefully) your last day to be an unapologetic, full-throated zohran mamdani supporter before we have to start holding him accountable as an elected mayor, so let's enjoy it while it lasts.

Side note: Disney has pulled their shit off regular ass cable (the box kind) providers before too
YouTube TV's contract dispute with Disney, which has led to the blackout of ABC and ESPN from YouTube, is a reminder that streaming services are subject to blackout at the whim of corporate greed.

My final piece for @teenvogue.com politics section was a piece titled "There's a Steep Price to Ignoring Black Expertise" and boy has that come full circle.

Thank you @allegrak.bsky.social and the politics editorial team for turning this Head Start kid into a Black woman who writes for the public.

NEW — The TRiiBE obtained audio of a 911 call made by a Border Patrol agent to report a crash injuring a 49-year-old Black woman in Chicago.

In the aftermath of the crash, a federal agent was captured on witness video apparently placing a Black man in a chokehold.

It's the eve of Election Day, & turnout in Georgia is a small fraction of what it was 12 months ago... Still, there are 2 statewide races to be decided by whomever has voted by tomorrow.

Where we're at:

—640,048 Georgians have already voted.
(Roughly 4 million at this stage 12 months ago.)

He enacted policies that send thousands of infected people into nursing homes that led to deaths and then covered it up. That isn't "mishandling COVID cases" that is deliberate obfuscation.
There is absolutely no doubt that Cuomo often angered progressives. And his political career unraveled with numerous allegations of sexual harassment misconduct and mishandling of COVID cases. Those are real issues and it's logical for people to examine them and take them very seriously. 8/

This is brewing season!
This is rest & reset season!
WE EMBRACE IT!
I think there is value in all seasons, and I think people’s hatred of Fall/Winter stems from an inability to respect stillness, rest, and cycles.

Yeah, I’m glad we are in a new season. Not sorry

Agreed, it's not just Mark Burnett. Bunim/Murray Productions and Andy Cohen deserve a lot of the credit for the harm they caused! SMH.
Reality tv really did destroy the world, and not just through the Mark Burnett- Trump connection
I'd push this timeframe up to about 35 years (culturally), and highlight The Real World (season 1 in 1992) as the start of the depravity we have now. It ushered in a generation of TV intent on watching people be terrible to one another as 'entertainment'. 😒

Add the messages to TV, with the lack of structure and good role models in the home, and we're here. 2.5 generations raised and steeped in foolishness and acrimony. And RACISM. Can't forgot the RACISM! 🤦🏾‍♀️

I was laid off from Teen Vogue this week, alongside multiple other phenomenal team members.

At our Summit, I was asked how it felt to be 1 of 2 Black women left and what that meant for representation. Now, there are no Black women at Teen Vogue and that is incredibly painful to think about.
