Been great to spend a few days out and about with good friends Lynn and Steve from the UK, these are a few of the Dragonflies we saw during their visit.

A pair of Ringed Cascaders (Zygonyx torridus) during a visit to the Rio Guadalhorce we saw 4 males and a female.

Desert Darters (Sympetrum sinaiticum) were common at several sites.

Our revised ID confirmed. Lesser spotted Eagle,a mega for Almeria although they do overwinter in Alicante. Well chuffed. #birds

Almeria highlights wk comm 21/9.... Vela Blanca, Cabo the star this week with excellent visible migration. Lots of eagles,harriers and Honey Buzzards passing through. Saturday 27th for example 50 Honeys ,2 Ospreys, a juvenile Pallid Harrier and a Black Stork. (Pic is Cabo de Gata) #birds

A good morning at Rambla Morales. Lots of waders including Stone Curlew and Little Stint, several White headed Ducks but the highlight was a juvenile Honey Buzzard overhead on migration. #birds

What was a pleasant day birding up on the North Norfolk coast turned into a great day when we got news of this Lesser Grey Shrike at Winterton Dunes (South). I’d just got home and in my rush to get out again forgot the camera! This phone-scoped photo is the best I could do.

Good morning at #NWTCley&SalthouseMarshes today. Great first hour sea watching from Cley beach with 15+ Arctic Skuas including one beautiful dark morph, then remainder of the morning looking for waders on the main reserve and at Swan Pool, Salthouse. Fairly quiet but lovely to be there, as always.

Enjoyable morning at Cabo salinas. 13 wader species Inc Curlew Sand and Little Stint. Yellow wagtail, Spectacled Warbler, Iberian Grey Shrike (pic) and hundreds of Flamingos of course. #birds
