I'm not sure how you capably recover from this.
Sasaki was a lifeline to salvage what had already been a bad period ... the Vlad extension stuff looms, farm not in great shape, now Straw gamble ... it's been a rough couple of years of managing.

That said, I think there are legitimate questions about the selection process this year. From the start, the Canadian management and coaches seemed to lean towards “low risk” players as opposed to more skilled, higher risk players in some cases. The answer looks clear: bring your best players.
