we need to family plan for when it happens: if it’s in the middle of the night, do you want to be woken up? who are you responsible for texting first? do you have your favorite champagne or NA beverage on hand? who reads aloud the the Fox News tributes? who organizes the or*y?

yeah we're well aware dude. it has, indeed, sunken in.

wouldn't it be great if our elected officials actually did something about it? maybe the ones with the title of "Senator"? idk idk!
Taking Greenland the "hard way" means war.

The President is threatening war with our ally because he didn't get a peace prize.

Let that sink in.

I just want everyone to be happy. listening to the music they love, getting a mustache ride, eating a pastry.

aaaand that’s the death of pitchfork. we can finally, formally stop caring about their non sensical ratings which have been more clickbait than critique for the last 10 years.
I'm all for publications finding ways to keep the lights on, but...this is a choice.

Janet Jackson and Madonna have better discographies than Michael Jackson yet receive a 1/4 of the critical acclaim and public adoration. it's a damn shame.

I hope I never become someone uninterested in listening to new music from new artists. I don't see it happening, but I admit it's harder to "keep up." I have friends who I have to beg to listen to new stuff because they're (understandably) comfortable with the music they've listened to for decades

I've been waiting for something that I can send to people from far away looking to understand the situation we're facing in Minnesota that gives an accurate précis which conveys the seriousness without resorting to hyperbole; Ms. Polgreen has furnished that.
I went to Minneapolis last week. What I saw was horrifying and inspiring in equal measure. Gift link to my latest column: www.nytimes.com/2026/01/19/o...
