#SanDiego locals, on Dec 7 the Volcan Mountain Foundation is hosting an artist’s reception for their 2025 grant recipients (me!) where I’ll be discussing my painting “Forest Treasures - Mountain Lion” based on my Volcan Mountain residency. Hope to see you there! volcanmt.org/events/event...

Reposting this so I can research it later. Searched the database and yup, one of my books is listed. AI companies need to respect copyright law like anyone else, especially when they're trying to profit off of other people's work.
Anyone have any experience with this/this group?
every author in the class action, please file the claim.
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.

Got a new computer recently (spiffy HP Omen-OMG those gamer LED lights, I love (I am easily amused))
Somehow got a free #Corel #Painter Essentials + #Paintshop Pro with it, so installed those. This is the result of playing around with the programs last night.

Crystalline light filters through the oak tree in this impressively large oil painting of the Texas Hill Country. The brush strokes are thick and impressionistic, conveying a sense of movement throughout the painting.

Heya.I haven't drawn at all in far too long, so tonight I sat down +made myself #draw something. Doesn't have to be good, just has to BE. I think it's a reflection of my state of anxiety about the world these days. Yipper Coyote, I don't think a cute gesture will help- but then again, maybe it will.

I have a tradition I've kept, started when I was probably 5 or 6 years old. I make the last drawing of a year just before midnight New Year's and then the first new drawing of/in the new year. (Also drawings for my birthday from age to age.) Here's this year's- Yipper and Furr #Coyote. #pencil

Art doesn't have to be good.

Ever.

Just make something. You'll be better for it. What matters most is that you *did* it.

Please make something 💖
